NOVO’s Team Liam Raises $10,000 for the American Diabetes Association, Total Nears $64,000 since 2014
On May 5, 2018, NOVO’s Team Liam participated in the annual American Diabetes Association (ADA) Tour de Cure Napa. This year, Team Liam raised close to $10,000, making their fundraising total near $64,000 since 2014.
The money raised by Team Liam will go toward funding countless cutting-edge research projects, help children attend diabetes summer camp and support the millions of people living with diabetes through legal and medical assistance.
“The ADA puts on a great event with the Tour de Cure rides every year. NOVO and Team Liam are honored to be able to help a great cause. After my nephew was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I did some research and was dumbfounded by how many people are affected by this disease. There are over 30 million people living with diabetes in the U.S., with 7.2 million of those going undiagnosed and untreated, both astonishing numbers. So being able to raise not only the money we have, but also awareness, is something myself and our team is very proud of and we look forward to many more rides in the future.” -Rob Volpentest, VP of Marketing & Team Captain
The Tour de Cure is the ADA’s signature fundraising event with a mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. For this year’s Tour de Cure Napa, a total of 119 teams participated, with 1,300 riders raising $778,944*.
